- Subiect: The village of Chiţoc, from the county of Vaslui, was the place where a significantly different primary school was run in 1857-1874. The establisment's uncommon nature in relation to the discussed the age was due to several reasons: the school was a private one, founded by Spătar Ştefan Angheluţă, the owner of the land on which the village Chiţoc lay; it was meant for villagers' children, irrespective of their place of birth; the costs for the pupils' bed and board, clothing and stationary were covered by the owner, as well as the teachers' wages; the teaching process followed the same curriculum as that used in towns, with the addition of a few extra subjects such as: canto, religious chanting, Latin and natural sciences.
