Noi dovezi ale prelucrării locale a bronzului în aria est-carpatică a complexului hallstattian timpuriu cu ceramică canelată

  • Subiect: The article is dedicated to the problem of bronze metallurgy in the Carpathian-Dniester area during the Early Hallstatt. The introduction contains an overview of the bronze metallurgy evidences from the Early Hallstatt monuments Chişinău-Corlăteni and Gava-Holihrady-Grăniceşti, which were known before the large scale excavations in the multi-layered site Trinca-Izvorul lui Luca situated in the western part of the North-Moldavian Plateau. The presented evidences of bronze processing and supporting arguments are specific instruments used on various stages of the metallurgical processing (clay spoon for pouring molten metal, cut stone moulds, and tools for working the cast metal products); artefacts made of bronze, especially those with production defects and with distinguishing from prototypes morphological peculiarities; and a supposed special production site (an open furnace No. 1 from the excavation VII/1994 and a furnace from the pit No. 2 of the excavation XI/2001). The identification of a new archaeological monument Trinca-Izvorul lui Luca in the area of Chişinău-Corlăteni fluted Hallstatt Culture with evidences of bronze working improves our knowledge on this topic and supports the earlier proposed hypothesis that the Eastern-Carpathian societies developed the local Hallstatt type metallurgy.
