Subiect: It was 6 years ago when the Canadian diplomat Peter Roberts published a most interesting volume regarding the Russian avant-garde: George Costakis. A Russian Life in Art (Carleton University Press, Ottawa, 223 pages). This is not the first case of a diplomat who is interested in cultural information through his own sources, but is surely in a special situation.
The volume signed by Peter Robe1ts presents us one of the most well known and strongly commented collectors from the Soviet Russia: George Costakis (1912-1990). He owned an imposing painting collection including Chagall, Kandinsky. Malevici, Kliun, Zverev, Rodcenko etc. He proved to master all of the predictions and to succeed in giving a form to his passion for arts.
