Abstract: This article analyses the impact of the migrant/refugee crisis on the EU and on the multicultural dialogue. The article uses European and Russian sources and takes into account thinktank divergent discourses and public opinion debates. The EU is faced with considerable, even existential challenges. The EU and its Member States should address the root-causes of the problem in an effective way. Ending the Schengen Area would not be a solution. The EU should effectively project stability beyond its borders and develop a result-oriented security policy and crisismanagement system.
