- Subiect: Established on the 1st of April 1914 at Ploiesti, the 23rd Artillery Regiment was involved in the Romanian military campaigns of 1916 and 1917 in the First World War, offering its blood price. On November 27th 1923, the Regiment was transferred to the garrison of Bârlad, under colonel Dumitru Dumitrescu’s command. The Regiment distinguished itself through heroism and bravery in the Second World War as well, both in the Eastern Campaign (the liberation of Bessarabia, the Odessa operation, Stalingrad, Chişinău-Iasi) and the Western Campaign, after its fusion with the 30th Artillery Chişinău Regiment (the liberation of Banat, Transylvania, Czechoslovakia).
