- Subiect: On November 10, 2008, we celebrated 500 years since the first was book printed in what is now the teritory of Romania. Then, in 1508, monk Macarie crossed the Danube, from Ţetinie the capital of Muntenegrul. He printed there three Religious books for the Greek Orthodox Christians. The Ottoman Empire banned the use of printing in spiritual purposes other than the Islamic by the minority who were under occupation. In the Romanian Country Radu the Great was the ruler (1496-1 508), the son of Vlad the Monk and nephew of Vlad Tepes, the founder of Dealu monastery near Targoviste, where Macarie was installed and who will print books not only for the Romanians, but for the whole orthodoxy.
