Subiect: Archives documents referring to the old hospital of Piatra Neamţ
The local archives heep numerous documents that certify the beginnings of the sanitary existence organised on scientific basis in the Neamţ area, dated at the end of the 18th century and especially the following years.
First, the sanitary existence was empirically lended by the monks of the monasteries' infirmaries from Neamţ, Bistriţa, Sfinţii Voievozi or Precista. The scientific medico-sanitary activity starts but with the arrival of the first titrated physicians that took care of the prince's health, of his family's and of the lords.
The first hospital, which temporarily functioned in Piatra Neamţ attended the Russian army which was at war with the Turks, decimated by the plague and the cholera of the years 1829-1831.
