Bienala de artă plastică "Lascăr Vorel"

  • Subiect: The Art Museum from Piatra-Neamţ holds a very valuable heritage of paintings, graphics, sculptures and decorative art collections, signed by well-known Romanian artists, such as: Constantin D. Stahl, Lascăr Vorel, N. Tonitza, Gheorghe Petraşcu, Ion Jalea, Aurelia Vasiliu Ghiaţă, Iulia Hălăucescu a.o. Among the artists whose works are on display, a very important place is taken by Lascăr Vorel (1879-1918), from whom the museum collection owes the large majority of his works, his personality being honoured through the Plastic Art Biennial Exhibition named after him. This event started in Piatra-Neamţ in 1970 as a festival dedicated to the consecrated artists and became, in time, a very special manifestation. The participation to its proceedings of well renowned Romanian artists, such as: Dan Hatmanu, Vasile Grigore, Dimitrie Gavrilean, Iulia Hălăucescu, Nicolae Fleissig, Zamfir Dumitrescu and Teodor Moraru, certainly certifies the value of this event. After a break of almost two decades, the „Lascăr Vorel” Plastic Art Biennial Exhibition has been reorganized in 1997, becoming a competing festival, within which artistic artworks are being prized upon the evaluation of a jury. The organizers of this event are the Neamţ County Museums Complex, the Neamţ Union of the Plastic Artists and the Vorel Foundation who succeeded in showing to the public the panoramic view of the contemporary artistic creation from Piatra-Neamţ, within a centre of artistic modernism, thus increasing the number and the value of the museum’s collections thorough artworks donated by the artists.
