Subiect: Research of archaeological topography in the Mureş county (First part)
The authors present the results of an archaeological research accomplished in the piedmont area of the Călimani and Gurghiu Mountains, in summer of 1979.
This systematic investigation on the spot had for an object the enrichment of the archaeological data and information regarding a vast geographical area, from the northern part of the district Batoş - Reghin - Deda zone, to the east Gurghiu Valley - Cîmpul Cetăţii - Sovata zone. A series of questions of archaeological importance for the epochs: Neolithic, the Bronze Age, Hallstatt, Latène and the Roman Age were discovered on the basis of the observations made on the spot.
As time goes on, the results of this research are going to be checked by performing some control tests or by systematic archaeological digging.
