Subiect: The micro-study of this title is a monographically approach of a mythological creature, very well-represented both in Romanian and Maramureshean folklore around which a genuine mythology has been embroidered.
In the first part of the work many aspects linked to her dwelling, or linked to her features but also to her countenance details or to the ways the peasants and the country people imagine that she comes into sight are discussed.
There are also many informations about the vestment details of this mythological being in this first of the work. ln the second part, different appearances which this spirit takes herself as a result of her metamorphosis, looking like animals or human beings, are deliberated upon.
Other aspects of Forest Maid's mythology are also discussed as well as the garden like a magic (tabu-istical) space, which space she protects and controls.
In the content of the work, an important part is occupied by the malefic deeds of the Maiden of the Woods but also the means of defence which people imagined to escape from her malefic activities, beginning with exorcisism or ritual incantations and finishing with magical practice, some of them with a special load.
Last part of the work deals with the circulation of some motives and elements of the mythology about the Maid of Forest in the context of the world folklore.
