Subiect: This work wants to be a short iconographic and architectural presentatation of the
'WOODEN CHURCHES" from The "ASTRA" Traditional Folk Civilization Museum. The two wooden churches are real masterpieces, being historical monuments. They were transferred, being in course of degradation and then perfectly restored in The "ASTRA" Traditional Folk Civilization Museum, now being functional.
Originating from really closed areas (DRETEA village, Cluj county and BEZDED village, Sălaj county), the two churches are similar concerning the iconography, but very different from the architectural point of view. • Simbolical and axiologica! the church is the heart, the core of the village. The churches from our institution represent it's heart, bringing it closer to GOD.
