  • Subiect: At Sântimbru-Dealul Mic 537 animal bones were found in 25 complexes, of which only 17 could be dated with certainty to either the Middle Bronze Age (Wietenberg culture) or the Late Bronze Age (Noua culture). In the Wietenberg culture complexes there were only 20 bones of which 12 could be determined to the genus and species, and in the Noua culture complexes there were 426 bones of which 273 could be determined. The richest complex is Cx 25, and in Cx 28 the skeleton of a juvenile goat with cut marks was found. Among the kitchen remains cattle are the most represented, sheep/goats and pigs are present in a similar proportion. Interestingly, this Noua community seems to have consumed horse meat, but also supplemented their diet with hunting of wild species such as deer or rabbit. Many worked bones, grinders, scrapers and soles have been found.
