Subiect: Architects of the Bucharestan Neo-Romanian Style
The birth of the national modern schools in some of the Eastern European countries, during the l 9th century, proved to be a complex phenomenon closely tied to the increase in the people's aspirations of social and national freedom. At the same time, the elaboration of the national art styles was a reaction against academicism of every kind. A real artistic revolution took place around the year 1900, when conditions appeared for diversified national art versions to finally develop.
The article presents and explains the elaboration of the Neo-Romanian style, at a time when academicism, neo-classicism and eclecticism were in vogue in Romania.
