Subiect: This study analyses the impact an the genre, defined as classical, of the avant- garde movements(expressionism, cubism), which profoundly marked the modality of approaching the humanface in contemporary painting.
Oscilating between "abstraction" and between "negationist irrationalism" and "abstract rationalism", approaching mainly the archetype form, paintings surpass the coordinates specific to the genre. Often resorting to "quotation" and "intertextualism", contemporary painting resets into discussion a genre whose new values, both on iconographicallevel and on the level of means of pictorial expression are discovered.
