Subiect: The author shows some aspects less studied as regards the Romanian Cyrillic
writing from the beginning of the 19th century: letters with equivocal value and confusion of letters. The examples are particulary based upon the Ms. Rom. 3499 of the Romanian Academy Library- dated 1816- the only copy preserved of the oldest Romanian translation (17th century) of the Herodotus Histories. If this aspects are neglected by paleographers, historians and linguists they could cause serious misinterpretations of the text in its publication process and could also lead to wrong valuations of the written message. The article is also an appeal for strengthening the cooperation among historians, linguist and paleographers.
