Subiect: Jewelry and clothing accessories in Braşov County History Museum's collection
The decorations from the Transylvanian Saxon, Hungarian and Romanian national costumes are among the most important objects made by the Transylvanian goldsmith artisans. The custom of adorning the national costume with jewellery spreaded out through the medieval guilds and also the commerce. The most important pieces of jewellery are: the hairpin, the belt and the headkerchief pin. These accesories riched the countryside after the disappearance of the urban costume and were inherited from one generation to another, in most of the families. The County History Museum of Braşov owns many pieces of jewellery and clothing accessories made by the local artisans. Most of them are made by guilded silver, all the pieces show the skill of the craftsmen and the importance of the local guilds.
