Subiect: Aspects of the Romanian society reflected in the publishing of Octavian Goga
Octavian Goga's personality can not be seen in its entirety without knowing his articles, his publishing work. Through the socio-political and cultural discussed topics, through the emotional force emanating from his views, Goga΄s publishing work is situated, in axiological terms, at the same level with that one of Mihai Eminescu. In his articles Goga is dominated by the conviction that the achievement of the national idea will lead to the institutional, economic and cultural strengthening of Romania. The realities of the new Romanian state imposed the removal of abuses and injustices, of demagogy, of the racket profiteering and the imposing of a new table of moral and spiritual values. After the Union of 1918, the destiny gradually directed the poet in the train of political life. The criticisms are directed against the National Liberal Party and the National Peasant Party, Iuliu Maniu being a favorite target of many of Goga΄s articles. With the same determination, he rejects the views that placed him on antisemitic and xenophobic positions and which credited him as being a pleader of the Italian fascism. In the same virulent manner, Octavian Goga criticised the grasp of the communist ideology in the Romanian publishing space and honestly informed
his readers about the dangers of this ideology.
