  • Subiect: PAINTINGS BY ION MITREA IN COLLECTION IN THE MUSEUM FOR HISTORY AND ART OF ZALAU The painter Ion Mitrea of Transylvanian origin, is one of the most sensitive colorist of the town Cluj. He was born in Iclod on the 3-rd September 1919 in a village near to Cluj. ln the art collection of our town he is well represented by a number of 13 works, from different periods in his creation. We can group them in: compositions, static natures, portraits and landscapes. They are generally characterized by their colors being calm, subtle well armonized, without strong, evident tons, preferring colored greys and subtil used whites.
